Just Women: Community Rehabilitation

This Community Rehabilitation part of the Just Women project works with women who are serving community orders or have been released from prison on Licence. Participation can be used to meet a court mandated Rehabilitation Activity Requirement

We deliver a suite of interventions to women across Leicestershire which tackle the most common causes of female offending, including specific programmes which address supporting emotional well-being, healthy relationships and practical workshops, such as our:

“This is Me” programme

This is Me, is an empowering psycho-educational programme delivered by NDND, designed for women to explore their emotions and identities over eight sessions. Participants will create a confidential space to address emotional management, self-identity, trauma, and emotional triggers. They will learn techniques to manage emotions, challenge negative thoughts, and connect thoughts with behaviors. The workshop concludes by supporting positive self-perception and celebrating personal growth, equipping women with resilience and confidence.

Our programmes can be delivered to in a group format, which provides the opportunity for women to receive peer support. We also work on a flexible, one-to-one basis with women who are not yet ready for group work.

Just Women: Out Of Court Resolutions

New Dawn New Day has over 10 years’ experience supporting women through the Out of Court Resolution pathway. While the service is now delivered by Ingeus, we continue to provide a women-only space where women on the pathway can access support through our co-located Ingeus partner.

We recognise that women involved in the criminal justice system can face multiple and overlapping barriers and may need an individualised, gendered approach to support.

Women accessing the pathway at NDND can also take part in our groups and workshops and, where appropriate, can be referred for additional support, including our Young Women’s service for women aged 18–25 and wraparound support for women with further support needs or barriers to engagement.

This allows women to access the Out of Court Resolution pathway in a women-only environment, while also connecting them with wider support at NDND where this is needed.
